Introduction to Kinetic Art

This hands-on course will explore sculptural movement using basic materials (paper, board, wire, wood) and construction techniques. We will study everyday objects to demystify mechanisms and establish a grounded understanding of mechanical workings. Students will develop these investigations into sculptural interpretations, building momentum and an orientation for personal expression of movement and form.

Classes offered throughout the year at Massachusetts College of Art, Maud Morgan Arts, the DeCordova School, and the instructor's Somerville studio.
